We invited him
So, we called W last night, he answered his phone, and we invited him and gf to dinner. He sounded like he was interested, but said he had to confer with gf and he'd get back to us. Well....no surprise, he hasn't gotten back to us. :(
I knew when we called him that there was a very slim chance he'd come over. But I'm still sad to watch it happen (or, um, not happen, y'know?).
The good news is that it's Friday, and the forecast for the weekend looks great. Got berry picking with friends lined up, possibly canoeing as a family, and maybe (can I hope?) we'll get our act together to go try out 1st Prez here in town.

Reading this gives one the impression that you believe Gina has control over my visiting your house. She doesn’t. She understands that you’re my family and she has done nothing to prevent me from visiting. She hasn’t, but you have. You have with your betrayals of trust, misrepresenting both Gina and I to her family and the rest of ours. It has hurt not only Gina and I but Gina’s family. Please, you were never asked to interfere, we only wanted to share a little of what was going on in our lives, we didn’t want people to step in and try to take control for us. Gina hasn’t harmed me, my family has. I realize that all of this hasn’t been your fault, and that Dad’s actions and choices aren’t always in agreement with you, but you have also caused pain. That is pain not easily healed, and that is why I don’t wish to visit for dinner. This isn’t an attempt to reestablish contact, or to heal these wounds, this is just my attempt to share my side of a very personal issue in such a public sphere.
